INDIANAPOLIS – January 28, 2015 – Concrete pumpers across the United States are relying on the nation's first truck builder, Autocar Trucks, to build a new generation of concrete pump trucks to handle the recent surge in major construction activity.
The latest U.S. Department of Commerce report (released January 2, 2015) noted strong year-over-year growth across a range of major construction categories demanding concrete, such as Highways & Streets +5.7%, Office +11.3%, and Commercial +14.7%. In response, companies pumping concrete at construction sites have turned to Autocar Trucks to custom-build specialized concrete pump trucks – among the most sophisticated and technically advanced trucks on the road.
"That's exactly where we fit in," said Glenn Pochocki, Director of Concrete Pump Sales at Autocar. "Our customers each have unique needs. One size doesn't fit all in this industry. Autocar understands this and helps each customer build the exact truck configured to meet their business goals."
"Purpose-built" trucks, according to the company, are specifically engineered by the Autocar team according to specifications required by the customer. Custom configurations are built directly into the Autocar concrete pump trucks on the main production line, instead of attempting to modify a pre-made vehicle afterward.
"It's about ensuring our vehicles are ready to work from day one, and stay up, so pumpers get maximum utilization of their equipment" said Eric Schwartz, Autocar's Managing Director. "Building severe-duty low cab-over trucks is our number one priority – it's not a side-line offering like it is for our competitors – so we pour our resources and attention into engineering and building custom trucks right the first time." Autocar trucks integrate state-of-the-art driveline components from Cummins, Allison, and other top suppliers to maximize reliability and parts availability.
"We've been running an Autocar ACX™ concrete pump truck since the beginning of last year with no downtime. We like it so much we just bought two more Autocars," said Charles Courville of C&R Preferred Concrete Pumping. The Autocar Solutions® 24/7 service command center provides live, expert technicians to help operators keep their trucks on the road and generating income. Autocar's message, "Contact Us First", invites truck owners to obtain all types of support directly from the factory, such as maintenance advice, emergency assistance, training, or technical documents. Autocar Solutions 24/7 service is completely free for the life of the truck.
Concrete pumpers looking at new concrete pump trucks to support their growth can have hands-on experience with Autocar concrete pump trucks at the World of Concrete show in Las Vegas, February 3-6, 2015. Autocar has partnered with Irving Equipment to display mounted pumpers and conveyors from Robinson Concrete, J. Pearce & Son Concrete Construction, C & R Preferred Concrete Pumping, and R.L. McCoy, Inc. Autocar will be exhibiting at World of Concrete booth C6426 where visitors can stop by to learn more about custom-building a truck to fit their business needs.
